We perform a contemporary version of vintage Zydeco dance music from Louisiana, typically featuring accordion and guitar. Zydeco is derived from a modification of a song title Les haricots ne sont pas salés, (The beans are not salty) meaning, hard times. Our wide ranging repertoire draws from many cultures that settled in Louisiana: Cajuns (French-speaking immigrants from Canada - Acadians), Creoles (European / Black Caribbean), African-American and Spanish.
The mix mix includes R&B, blues, gospel, waltz dance music and jazz.
